M. PHIL PROGRAMME ( Economics)
The M. Phil. programme in economics is the foundation for the Ph. D. programme and involves core areas of economics and generic electives in order to begin the process of choosing research area in future to help students achieve a certain set of learning outcomes.
To get admission to the M Phil programme, students are required to clear Common Entrance Test.
PH. D. PROGRAMME ( Economics)
A Pre-Ph. D Entrance Test is conducted by the University. Those who are NET/SET qualified are exempted from this test. After qualifying in the entrance test, students select particular areas of their interest, make a detailed all round study, including review of literature published on the chosen topic and after a close scrutiny by the Research and Recognition Committee, their topics are approved or appropriate changes are suggested. On completing the research work, the thesis is externally evaluated and subject to successful Viva-Voce, the student is conferred with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics.
