History
It is one of the pioneering Institution imparting Social Work Education from 1980 in Marathwada region. It enjoys a special status due to its remarkable performance in Social Work Education.
Till 22nd January 2003, this College was being conducted by private society. On 22nd January 2003 the college was taken over by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and it became part of University. Senate authority in its meeting held in March 2018 initiated the process to reorganize this college as Department of Social Work Education.
Consequent upon this, being a part of university, this department has good physical infrastructure and highly qualified & experienced teachers. The sincere faculties with motivation & devotion have been developing personnel for Social work intervention through Social Work Education.
With 38 years of Social Work Education experience, this department has attributed to develop the updated social work curriculum as per the emerging needs of society. It also focuses upon the research to enhance the body of knowledge.
Social Work Intervention has scope in various fields . Students receive inputs in the form of exposure, interactions & counseling which enable them to develop an approach with sensitivity, sound attitudes as well as human relationship skills required for functionaries in different fields. Such functionaries may include trained social workers in the roles of Policy Makers, Administrators, Counselors, Researchers, Facilitators, and Social Auditors.
