National Service Scheme
The National Service Scheme was
started in 1969-70, which was celebrated as the birth centenary year of Mahatma
Gandhi , the father of nation. The idea of creating social responsibilities among
students and youths was originated by Mahatmaji during the period of national liberation

Objectives:- [NSS Silver Jubilee year]
Our unviersity celebrated the year 1994 as `NSS Silver Jubilee year' . During the year university organise following two central camps in addition to usual programmes.
I) NSS CENTRAL CAMP AT NERALIYAKUSH TADHAM, NANDED (MARCH -11-15-94)
About 250 NSS Students and Programme Officers from different NSS Colleges in Marathwaqda region participated in he camp. Campers constructed the pits for plantation and planted about 350 different palnts in the campus of the Kushtadham't in order enrich the campus, as part of their "SHARAMDAN" participants also presented cultural programme for entertainment of Leprosy Patients and conveyed the message of best human life.
II) NSS CENTRAL CAMP AT YELDARI DAM, JINTOOR (OCT.16-20, 1994)
About 200 NSS Girl Students and Programme Officers from different NSS Colleges in Marathwada region participated in the camp. During camp period "SALACHAPTA" Dindi was arranged and marched through village. The message of Importance of Education and Adult Education,. Andharadha Nirmulan, health Education, Conservation of Soil and Plant, Plantation programme National International, I radiation pf social evils like Donkey untouchables etc was pad in the masses of rural area. University arranged a conducuding function of Silver Jubilee Year on 3rd December, 1994. Hon. Ex-minister was Shri Sunil patel invited as Chief Guest of the function and Hon. Dr. S.B. Nakade, Vice-Chancellor presided over the function DR. J.M. Waghmare, Vice-Chancellor (SRTMU) Nanded attended the function as a special guest.
[WASTE LAND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT]
The Waste Land Development Board, Ministry of Rural Development, Govt of India has sanctioned the Wasteland Development project to our university under National service Scheme. The Government has allowed 69 acd 53 acres Grain Land at Fardapur and Galwada village in Sillod and Soygaon taluka respectively, in the vicinity of world famous Ajantha Caves During this year, university organised District Orientation Camp of Aurangabad and Jalna districts in the month of October About 132 NSS students participate din this camp, by preparing pits and stretches about 7500 different plants such as Shairas, gulmohar, Nim, Babool, Imalli etc planted by the campers, thus efforts have been made to the project, success 1996)
[INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY]
NSS of our university, in collaboration with District Adult Education Department organised Students Rally on Sept, 8, 1996 as a part of celebrations of "International Literacy Day" The said rally started from Kamit Chow and marched along the main streets of the Aurangabad District Literacy Mission inaugurated the rally by hosting flag ,NSS Programme Officers and NSS volunteers participated in the Rally, Prof. G.T. Deogaonka addressed the students.
[Golden Jubilee year of India's Independence]
N.S.S. 1997:The year 1997 was celebrated as Golden Jubilee year of India's Independence. For grant celebration university organised various programmes. Some of them are as follows:
1) Torch March
1) TORCH MARCH
The university (NSS cell nd Departmetn DSW) organised "Torch March" on the 15th August in the midnight from Kranti Chowk. About 100 students from various colelges participated in the march. The students marched on the main roads of city and coveyed the message of piece, national integration communal harmony to the masses.
NSS (1998) :I) NSS CENTRAL CAMPS: The University NSS Cell organised 3 NSS Central 10 Days Camps with the them "Watershed Management and Waste Land Development" in the university campus near Goganath Temple" during Feb. 18 to March, 9 1998. About 283 Selected Students from al Osmanabad participated in these camps.
During camp period, students worked hard and constructed and completed Earthen Bandhara whose size is: Length 20 meters, Height 04 meters and Width 05 meters
Programme coordinator Dr. D.B. Dhaigude took imitative and rendered valuable direction and guidance to the campers in sprite of other usual activities of camps.
2) DAY CAMPS
To strength the above project of "Day Camps" for NSS students from local colleges were organised on every Sunday at University campus, almost all colleges of Aurangabad city participated in the activity & the project proved a grant success.
3) WORKSHOP ON AIDS AWARENESS
One days Workshop on "AIDS Awareness" was organised for all NSS Programme Officer in the University.
4) APPOINTMENT OF N.S.V.
The Government of India has sanctioned N.S.V. post to NSS cell of our university, Shri Pranav Bardapurkar (P.G. NSS unit) and Shri Pradeep Manjare (K.S.K. College, Beed) were appointed as N.S.V. Both of the help NSS functions in organising workshop. The NSS meeting and regular activities.
