History

Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension established in 1979 for the implementation of National Adult Education and Extension program. The department is Non-Vocational academic. It is working on national importance and target oriented issues through formal & non formal discipline with inter disciplinary approach. Department is making education relevant to real situation and to prevent the alienation of education from society. It is also developing the sense of responsibility towards the society.

The intention of the department is to extend the knowledge with other insituational resources to the community and Vice-versa and also to gain insight from socio-cultural realities and reflect it in system of higher education. Department also developed the extension Model through 60 affiliated colleges. 3000 students and 60 programme officers have involved in the extension activities i.e. Education, Health, Empowerment of women, Environment, Rehabilitation for special children, scientific approach, Rural development, celebration of special days, drug abuse and alcoholism, students counseling and career guidance etc.
